Lorraine Jacob, a 19-year-old housewife, found out to her cost on Thursday, September 3rd, 1970, when she was attacked in an alley in Mount Pleasant, Liverpool. She was beaten about the face, forced to the ground, her tights ripped off and she was raped. During the struggle she was suffocated.
There were signs that she put up a brave fight for her life, which meant that her attacker was probably badly scratched around his face and hands.
