Someone George Ulycz invited back to his room in Upper Richmond Road, Putney, stabbed the 39-year-old labourer in the chest, leaving him mortally injured. He died on his way to hospital, and the post-mortem revealed that he had been attacked some hours previously, early on Sunday morning, August 15th, 1965. Ulycz was not a homosexual and there was no sign of a break-in.
