When three convicted murderers went to the gallows in Bridgetown, Barbados, on Wednesday, October 10th, 1984, they were the last executions on the island.

Erroll Farrell, 27, shot dead Mark Bryan, 28, in a parked car in a lovers’ lane in 1980. Dressed in a wig, Farrell held up the couple at gunpoint, killed Mr. Bryan and forced his girl friend into a cane field, where he raped her before shooting her in the head. Miraculously she survived and identified Farrell.

Wearing masks, Noel Jordan, 24, and Melville Inniss, 21, shot dead Cyril Seepaul, a Guyanese, in his home in 1981, then emptied his pockets of money and jewellery.
