Who was the stranger who boarded an Aylesbury to Baker Street, London, train at Wembley Park on Wednesday, February 25th, 1942? He was aged about 30, of medium height, wearing a light-coloured coat, and he was almost certainly the killer of Mrs. Beatrice Meadmore, 63, a passenger on the train.
She was savagely beaten around the head and since all her effects except her handbag were recovered the motive must have been robbery. Despite it being wartime, the stranger was the only man on the train who was not traced by the police.
