Description

Do you believe in miracles? Ashley Smith did and persuaded the man who was holding her hostage in her apartment to believe in them too. Not only did Ashley persuade him to give himself up, she also converted him to Christianity. Now he wants to spread the word of God inside prison, and he’ll have plenty of time to do that as he had killed four people before blasting into Ashley’s life…

Another miracle reported in this issue is how Gabriella Mazzali survived the most horrific attack after her ex-boyfriend, Stephen Rae, doused her in gasoline and set her alight. Gabriella threw herself down the stairs to put out the flames which were engulfing her but was still smouldering and barely coonscious as she lay in a crumpled heap at the bottom of the stairwell. Luckily she was near one of the world’s top burns units at Sydney’s Concord General Hospital and surgeons worked tirelessly to save the petite 24-year-old woman.

Her struggle to overcome the attack and face her ex-boyfriend in court is an extraordinary story of a truly remarkable spirit.

This issue is full of true crime cases old and new which should keep you reading for a long time to come.

And one which should give you some amusement is that of handyman Peter Ellis whose love-life was so complicated he rigged up the bath as a murder machine to solve the problem for him. He had a wife and a mistress and had been living with both women for four years. When he was his his mistress he told his wife that he was in Albania building refugee accommodation and when he was with his wife, he told his mistress that he was living with his grandmother 10 miles away…

Please note – Many of the cases in the American issue of True Detective have already been published in True Detective, True Crime, Master Detective & Murder Most Foul.
