Description

This month’s issue contains stories about three murder machines – deadly devices rigged up by men intent on killing. Strangely, two of their victims survived. Marine Sergeant Marion Piper became known throughout western USA as "the man who climbed out of his own grave" after thumbing a lift from Richard Jensen – a dangerous psychopath with a killing machine. That wasn’t the only dangerous thing about Jensen, being around him had always been hazardous, since he was six years old. Read his remarkable case history in this month’s True Detective.

The other survivor to grace these pages was a young woman whose husband decided that the only way out of his complicated love life was to give his wife an enormous electric shock when she had a bath. The effect was sure to kill her, he thought, and it would look like a heart attack. Amazingly, she survived, and was at first willing to go along with her husband’s explanation that the current that had melted the bath chain was her own body static. That was until an irate blonde woman turned up on the couple’s door step the next morning…

There are many other fascinating cases in this month’s True Detective, including one with a paranormal twist. Sigrid Erbe had a terrible vision when her daughter didn’t come home one night in 2003 – and the vision came true. The pretty blonde 16-year-old had been brutally raped and beaten to death. Police were unable to come up with any clues as to who had committed the crime, so Sigrid asked the spirits to help.

We hope you enjoy the issue. Good reading!
