Description
By all accounts Angela Chiu appeared to have it made. Charging £100 an hour, the 48-year-old masseuse also sold lingerie and hosiery from her six-bedroom, £1 million home in the exclusive Canford Heights district of Poole, Dorset, the world’s fourt most expensive place to buy a house. Max Bygraves, cricketer Geoff Boycott and Southampton Football Club manager Harry Redknapp also own homes there. As a busy masseuse Angela always had people coming and going. Even more people were in and out early in August 2003, but they were not clients – they were police. Angela’s body had been found in a pool of blood in an upstairs bathroom. She had been repeatedly stabbed in the chest and the police thought her killer might have been someone who got the wrong idea about her business.
Year after year Catherine Corridan’s file just sat around gathering dust. On March 8th, 1994, the 31-year-old cook was reported missing. The police suspected that she had been murdered after leaving a party in Hanwell, west London, and they even thought they knew who had killed her. Then 11 years later, cold case detectives took a second look at Catherine’s file – and the suspect. "I think when this investigation started we had less than a fifty per cent chance of success." a senior police spokesman said. "Now we have secured a conviction and recovered Catherine’s body for her family."
