Description

More readers than ever enoyed the April issue of True Detective. Perhaps because of the lead story about Barry George, or the case of the Mothers Against Murder, featured on the cover. Is is it because TD just gets better and better? And if this is the case, why? Perhaps this is where our readers come in. Many of your suggestions about stories, old cases and reports are now incorporated into each issue. Your points open up interesting avenues that lead to the research of cases and crimes not reported since the days they were committed.

Featured this month are two clever dicks who thought they could confound detectives and get away with murder. One even wanted to sell his story to the newspapers for £80,000, but a scenario out of a thriller novel ensnared him. Here police scanned a home with a video camera, and unbeknown to them, filmed the vital clue that would catch and convict a cold-blooded murderer.

In the second case of a perfect murder going wrong, a killer based his alibi on the times of trains, using their reliability to get from place to place to set up a clever story of innocence. This was, however, in Switzerland. If he had been in Britain he would never have bothered.
