Description

Nicola Edgington was different from the rest of us. She was both dangerous and desperate and she was crying out for help in a bid to combat the internal horror that was pulling her mind apart. Once before she had had a nervous breakdown. Now she was really scared, aware that she was close to becoming violent, worried even that she might kill again, for she had killed a few years ago and she didn’t want that to happen again under any circumstances. “I’m a very dangerous schizophrenic,” Nicola told the 999 operator. “I’m afraid I might hurt someone if I don’t get some help. I’m in the A and E waiting-room. Please send some police officers to arrest me…”

The two Englishmen who got off the night boat from Liverpool had spent most of the crossing to Dublin, Ireland, in the bar. It was high summer and they carried sleeping-bags, backpacks and other items that mark the cost-conscious tourist. But that was a false note, for they were not ordinary visitors. They were two men on the run. Back in Lancashire the police were seeking the pair for questioning regarding a series of sex attacks on women, a few robberies and various other matters. But what was about to occur would put the two fugitives beyond the reach of British law for a very long time. For these two men were psychopaths who had come to rape, torture and kill. Turn to page 29 for Horror Of The Killers From Across The Water.
A husband killing a wife to escape the costs of a divorce is not unusual in the annals of crime. But hiring a woman to do the killing is much more of a rarity. Yet that is just what happened in a small town in Alabama as a man decided his wife had become too much of a burden. And the woman chosen to commit murder? Well, she was up for the deal – as you will discover when you read Hit-Woman Hired To Murder Wife.

The visiting council dignitaries were all on board the nuclear sub docked at Southampton. They were having a look around at the very moment a member of the sub’s crew came on duty. But the heavily-armed sailor was in no condition to be put in charge of powerful weapon. As well as consuming much alcohol there was murder seething in his heart.
