From reading in the June issue the interview with Caroline Roberts, the baby-sitter who survived being abducted by Fred and Rose West, it seems that recovery from being a victim of a psychopath takes many years. Kate Long, who was interviewed for this issue, is no exception. She has since written a book about her experience of living with a murderous psychopath and it has finalled allowed her to put his ghost to rest.

Stephen Moore was a carpenter. He was also a womaniser and Mrs. Esther Pay was one of his conquests. Further, Esther and Moore’s young daughter Georgina shared a curious intimacy, so when the child disappeared Esther became the prime suspect. "This child has been killed out of spite to Moore," Esther told the police, "for he has served women very badly, and one that I know worse than me; and he has served me bad enough." The Crown claimed that, stirred by a desire for revenge on Moore for leaving her for other women, esther became a raging demon – but was she a murderess?
