Description

The on-going debate as to the identity of Jack The Ripper is perpetuated this month with Robert Hills giving his variation on the legendary East End horrors. A local man, with anatomical knowledge, the well ground knife of a slaughterman, a killer bearing a grudge against prostitutes and the fearful abdominal mutilations inflicted on the victims all play their part.

Do you heap pity on a mother accused of murdering three of her children then hauling their bodies around the US for the best part of 20 years, or do you convict her of second-degree murder and send her to prison for a long time? Dianne Odell denied the charges against her, claiming that she passed out when each of the three babies was born, and when she regained consciousness she found each one dead. Six of her eight surviving children attended her trial and they continue to maintain that they have a loving mother who has done nothing wrong. The prosecutor, however, argues that Dianne "killed the newborn babies she didn’t need or want." One thing is certain, we’ve not heard the last of this tragic story.
