Description

In the middle of this issue you’ll find another free pull-out section in our new Crime Collection series – this time focusing on the life and crimes of Richard Ramirez. Reaction to last month’s in-depth report on the Jack Abbott case has been overwhelmingly positive; now we’d like to know what you think of this month’s pull-out.

Remarkable as the Ramirez story is, however, it has some stiff competition from the other cases in this issue. Take our lead story, for instance – Teresa’s Fatal Photo Shoot – which you’ll find on the next page. In essence, it concerns a man who raped and tortured a young photographer to death – after serving an 18-year jail sentence for a rape he didn’t commit. It’s incredible – but true.

Then there’s the sad case of Angelika Kluk. You may have seen news reports when this case came to trial earlier this year; now TD has brought together all the facts to present you with the definitive, no-punches-pulled report on Angelika’s murder.

Almost as outlandish, in its way, is the saga of The Would-Be Hangman Who Was Hanged. In an engrossing report, ace crime writer A.W. Moss shows that – but for an earlier court case concerning arson – Samuel Dougal might have passed the rest of his days killing people legally. Instead, like so many others in this issue, he did his killing on the wrong side of the law.

Finally, let us direct the fans of facts and figures to this month’s Case Files Of Victorian Hangings. Dates to note include the last public execution in Britain, the last woman executed for infanticide and the final executions in England and Ireland for attempted murder. Then there’s a extra treat for fact collectors.
