Description

For many teenagers growing up in the 1970s, a paper round was considered a safe, quick and easy way to earn some cash. West Midlands youngster Carl Bridgewater would, no doubt, have thought so too. He delivered newspapers after school, collecting his round from a newsagent’s in Wordsley. Tragically, however, his job was to cost him his life, as on September 19th, 1978, he was shot dead. The 13-year-old’s brutal murder at Yew Tree Farm shocked Britain, and today, nearly 40 years later, the question of who killed him remains unanswered. Crimes That Made The Headlines – Who Did Murder Paperboy Carl Bridgewater? The full story.

In the days of the British Empire, when Mumbai was known as Bombay, a detective called Sirdar Mir Abdul Ali took charge of a murder investigation after a woman’s body was found in a wooden box. Who had killed her?  The Sherlock Holmes Of Bombay, part one of a new series, Crimes From Old India.

Ireland’s Road Map To Murder reaches its final destination this month when, we look at eight cases from County Kerry. Could it be time to send our ace researcher Matthew Spicer off on a trip to Scotland?
