Description
She was a bit of a rebel against her parents’ authority, so when Danielle Jones, 15, disappeared in June 2001 it was initially thought that she had gone off in a huff. She hadn’t although in the meantime her self-employed builder uncle has been found guilty of kidnapping and murdering his niece. However, he left the dock without speaking and now some 20 months after she disappeared there is still the one major question that everybody wants answered: the whereabouts of Danielle’s body.
The year is 1963 and the two hitch-hiking teenage girls from Liverpool were on holiday in Somerset when they were given a lift by three obliging young men. However, in a deserted country lane in Wolvershill near Banwell, Somerset the girls were brutally attacked turning their dream holiday into a nightmare.
Four years ago this month Jill Dando was shot on her front doorstep in Fulham and the press took up the mystery of her death with unrelenting gusto, but did the police catch the right man, or was Barry George a scapegoat in the whole affair?
