Description

The brutal murder of Daniella White in Northamptonshire in 1995 was the latest in a string of prostitute murders where many of the victims had been left naked, with no trace of their clothes. Of course prostitutes are often beaten up by brutal punters or over zealous pimps – it is all part of their risky profession. Indeed, there is hardly a year goes by where one has not been murdered. But over the last few years there has been a pronounced increase, almost as if someone out there is killing prostitutes for sport.

Furthermore, the newspapers have speculated that there might be another "Ripper" at work, since there has been a pattern to the crimes. Now police forces throughout Britain are taking seriously the possibility of there being a serial killer specialising in prostitutes. They have noted enough disturbing similarities between the killings to warrant liaison between difference police forces to "compare notes."

In Daniella White’s case it did not take the police long to get a lead on her killer. The parallels with the Yorkshire Ripper Peter Sutclife are frightening. So is there a new "Ripper" on the loose?

We have certainly not heard the last word on this headline-making case.
