Description

Our first story centres around a house which has twice been exorcised – the first time unsuccessfully – and a tragedy which might have remained a mystery for ever were it not for a message received at a seance at the place?

Maintaining the Scottish theme, although in a lighter vein, ‘Tales From The Black Kalendar of Aberdeen’, chronicles the wickedness and dark deeds of the citizens. To help give you a fix on the time-scale of the stories here are some additional facts you might be familiar with: ‘Pride and Prejudice’ was published in 1813 – so most of the characters in the stories might have read it – and in 1823 Robert Peel was Home Secretary, distinguishing himself with far reaching penal reforms. (So you see, you can learn history too!)

Another piece of history worthy of note is the ‘Call of Scotland Yard’ case. In 1927 the shooting of policemen was not unknown, yet P.C. George Gutteridge’s murder has remained "special" ever since.
