Gary Ridgway The Green River Killer? Is America’s most infamous murder mystery solved?
Murder Most Foul No. 44
Because of a sliva sample given to the police in 1984 – before DNA was available – one man has been linked to America’s longest running serial killings. He is credited with 49 victims, but no one knows exactly how many deaths occurred at the hands of the strangler known as the Green River killer. Not all the victims were prostitutes either, although all of them disappeared from an area known as the Meat Market, a strip like a supermarket with cheap meat and expensive cuts depending on the customer’s choice of women and the size of his wallet. But because nothing has ever been certain in this mystery the police are not saying much, although they are quietly confident.
