Description
More than 13 years have passed since Suzy Lamplugh disappeared. Years in which the police investigation got nowhere. In 1994 she was officially declared dead, but as 1999 drew to a close the police came under pressure from Suzy’s family to reopen the inquiry. This followed the Lamplughs’ receipt of further information indicating where their daugther’s remains might be found. If the tip-off were to prove correct, it could help solve a mystery which has many twists as a Jacobean table-leg.
There was no body, no murder weapon, and no witnesses. And the police appeared indifferent to Teresa Seabolt’s search for her sister’s killer. It took them a year to test the bloodstaines on Lisa’s mattress. But that didn’t stop her twin from fighting for justice…
“Where’s Mummy” nine-year-old Linda Bergen asked her grandmother. “She didn’t come home for supper. Now it’s eight o’clock and my bedtime – and Mummy’s not home to put me to bed. Where is she?”
Linda’s grandmother, Mrs. Abbie Van Davier, had no idea where her 32-year-old daugther, Mrs. Louise Bergen, could be. She had not returned home from her job in Cincinnati, Ohio, and it was stranger that she had not telephoned to explain her absence. Mrs. Van Davier knew that Louise had planned to attend a show that night of Thursday, October 30th, 1958. So why didn’t she come home to change her clothes?
