Description

Serial killers are often depicted as cold, calculating fiends who carry on their gruesome pursuit with a terrifying and chilling intelligence. But anyone who has ever studied them knows that, in reality, they are unhappy, half-mad loners. No case has ever illustrated this more clearly than that of the “Tourist From Hell,” John Martin Scripps.

With its ability to transport a body discreetly, the wheelie- bin has solved a problem for many killers. In 1903, however, quarryman William Haywood had no such facility, and shortly after nine on Saturday, July 11th, a labourer was astonished to see him trundling a wheelbarrow containing the blood-soaked corpse of a woman through the village streets of Lucton, Herefordshire. “Dear People,” Haywood wrote by way of an apology from his death cell, “I am going to die for causeing the deth of my Dear Wife. But I did not do it wilfull…” It did him little good for on December 15th that year William Haywood became the last person to be hanged at Hereford Prison.

FATHER HIRED HIT-MAN TO END SON’S MARRIAGE
“My father is still the greatest man I know,” said the killer’s son. “I ask you to let him live so others can benefit”
