Description

In August 1994 the then Home Secretary announced that a computerised national register of DNA profiles for everybody arrested for criminal offences would be set up. Sadly, this history-making move came too late for a woman on a cliff-top path near Salcombe.

The jury in Jersey that day in 1959 included women for the very first time in the island’s history. That was a “first.” The “last” aspect of the case was that the individual they help convict of murder proved to be last man hanged on the island.

Harvey hated women. In fact, he loathed them more than anything on earth. As a child, he claimed, he had been sexually abused by women so as an adult he was determined to get his revenge.
