Description

He is considered to be a legend, a genius who transformed pop music in the 1960s. But of late Phil Spector had become “creepy,” no more so than that breezy February morning in 2003 when leggy “B” movie actress Lana Clarkson was his house guest. “What’s the matter with you guys?” Spector asked when the cops turned up at his gated mansion in response to an emergency call. “I didn’t mean to shoot her…I have an explanation. Oh, God, I’m gonna go to sleep. Would you like me to sleep?” This from a man who usually carried at least one gun with him at all times and would change weapons four times a day to match his outfits. Creepy. See page 8 for this headline crime case that shocked the world.

His country had been overrun by Hitler’s tanks and he had been rounded up among the human loot called prisoners of war. He had since travelled far and sometimes perilously but he was finally content to settle down in the Harehills district of Leeds, especially after he chanced to meet Doris Allen. But Doris wasn’t all she appeared to be. And Allen wasn’t even her real name.
