Apparently jealous of his wife, Stanislas LeCroix shot her dead at their home in Montebello, Quebec, on August 24th, 1900. He then went on the run for 16 months before being caught on Christmas Eve, 1901. He was hanged at Hull Prison, Quebec, on Saturday, March 21st, 1903.
