In the spring and early summer of 1980 there were a number of rapes on Hounslow Heath, west London, involving physical violence. It was here on Monday, June 18th that the body of Patsy Morris, 14, was found face down in a small wood. She was half naked, her underwear pulled down to her ankles, and her hands were tied. She had been raped before being strangled with one leg of her tights.

Patsy had been wearing two pairs of knickers. No attempt was made to hide the body, and no DNA was found at the scene.
