A murder believed to be linked to drugs and gang violence on the London black dance scene happened in Windsor town centre on Sunday, July 4th, 1999, when Nathan Cawley was killed on the dance floor of the Mirage nightclub in William Street.
Mr. Cawley, 21, from Croydon, who was shot at point-blank range, was himself armed. This was only the 11th murder or manslaughter in Windsor during the entire 20th century.
