Voices in the head of 21-year-old American tourist Michael Shobeck suddenly told him to kill three other American tourists travelling with him in January 1974, because they were all agents of the devil. Forthwith Shobeck, from Wisconsin, who was on holiday in the Bahamas, murdered Irwin Bronstein, Paul Howell and 17-year-old Kate Smith.
At his trial he pleaded insanity, but he was found guilty of murder and hanged at Fox Hill Prison, Nassau, on Tuesday, October 19th, 1976.
