The day after Kenneth Dolden was murdered in Epping Forrest, Margaret Cook, a prostitute who described herself as an “exotic dancer,” was shot in an alley outside the Blue Lagoon Club in Carnaby Street, Soho, London. Margaret, 30, who had served a Borstal sentence, was probably killed after an argument. She had been warned that her new boy friend carried a revolver, but no one knew his name.

Police began looking for a man aged between 25 and 30, medium height, clean-shaven, wearing a dark pork pie hat and a Burberry-style raincoat, but the trail went cold.
