“Your money or your life!” cried a restaurant customer, brandishing a pistol at the staff. He had entered the restaurant near Karlovy Vary, in Czechoslovakia, with his friend Anton Fischer, intent on robbery. A fracas ensued, and Fischer fired his pistol, killing the owner. Fischer was hanged on Tuesday, May 26th, 1903, before an audience of 120 at Cheb Prison in Bohemia. The police never found his accomplice.
