She was old, she had nothing to steal and she lived alone in an isolated cottage in Scarcroft village, between Leeds and Wetherby. But someone targeted Ann Barker on Tuesday, December 28th, 1948, and beat her to death in her home, Rose Cottage. There was a Polish refugee camp nearby and everyone living there was questioned, but without any positive result.
