True Crime News: 20/12/2007 Children Heard Their Mother's Cries For Help
DARRELL BACON, 40, has been sentenced to life imprisonment for stabbing to death his former girl friend on September 9th, when she arrived to collect her two children and a granddaughter after they visited him. Winchester Crown Court heard they were about to leave his home in Poole, Dorset, when Bacon asked Tracey Buckland to go back into the house. Once inside, Bacon attacked her with several knives.
Her cries for help were heard by her children and neighbours who called the police. Officers forced their way in after Bacon refused to open the door and once inside they found him calmly drinking a can of beer. Miss Buckland was taken to Poole hospital but died from her injuries.
Detective Chief Inspector John Crossland said: “This was a brutal, callous and premeditated attack on Miss Buckland by Darrell Bacon who showed little regard for the children at the scene and no remorse whatsoever for his actions through the interview process.” He will serve at least 13 years.
